As we discussed last week, customer testimonials give you undeniable street cred. But how do you know which questions to ask? Asking the right questions can take a good review, to a great review! Let’s explore that a bit more.
When people make a connection with your business or service, that’s when you create a loyal customer who may be willing to discuss their positive experience with you. Asking questions that reveal the solution to a customer’s problem will make you stand out from the competition.
Here are some examples to get you started:
- What was your absolute biggest challenge prior to working with the (YOUR BUSINESS NAME HERE)?
- How did that challenge make you feel?
- What changed after working with the (YOUR BUSINESS)?
- What specific results can you share?
- What would you say to somebody on the fence?
- Anything else to add?

Google My Business reviews are the most important, but social media are also incredibly valuable. Another type of review that can be a great asset are video testimonials! We have a whole blog on the art of asking for a video testimonial.
Having a recording of a customer discussing the success of their experience with your business can be used on your website, social media, in presentations, future business pitches, etc..
